Pass Plus

The PASS PLUS scheme for newly qualified drivers has been introduced to provide incentives for new drivers to take additional driving lessons following their success in the driving test.
It is a training scheme linked to insurance discounts that will benefit the newly qualified driver by:

saving money on car insurance premiums
showing a positive driving style which is both enjoyable and safe
gaining quality driving experience safely

Save on Insurance A lot of the big insurance companies offer large discounts to people who have completed the Pass Plus course, some even as much as 51%! So not only are you gaining valuable experience from the course, and becoming a safer driver, but you also save money as well!

The aim of the six-module training syllabus designed by the Driving Standards Agency is to accelerate (no pun intended!) the aquisition of driving experience,and improve the safety of new drivers. This scheme is a response to concerns about the over-representation of new drivers as road accident casualties.
Statistics show that drivers are more likely to have an accident within the first two years of passing the test than at any other time in their driving career.
Whilst improved driving skills are a major concern of Pass Plus,a considerable emphasis is also placed on the need to develop positive attitudes to safe driving.

The course consists of six hourly lessons which cover:

Town Driving
All Weather Driving
Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads
Night Driving
Dual Carriageway Driving
Motorway Driving

On completion of the course I will sign a report form and send it to the Driving Standards Agency who will send you a PASS PLUS certificate showing:

that you have successfully completed the course
that you are entitled to an insurance discount from one of the companies taking part in the scheme
