The PASS PLUS scheme for newly qualified drivers has been introduced to provide incentives for new drivers to take additional driving lessons following their success in the driving test.
It is a training scheme linked to insurance discounts that will benefit the newly qualified driver by:

The aim of the six-module training syllabus designed by the Driving Standards Agency is to accelerate (no pun intended!) the aquisition of driving experience,and improve the safety of new drivers. This scheme is a response to concerns about the over-representation of new drivers as road accident casualties.
Statistics show that drivers are more likely to have an accident within the first two years of passing the test than at any other time in their driving career.
Whilst improved driving skills are a major concern of Pass Plus,a considerable emphasis is also placed on the need to develop positive attitudes to safe driving.
